Do you guys know how to duplicate your documents? I use this all the time when I like what I have created but I want to try something else to see if I like it better.

All you do is click on Image (at the top of the PS screen) then duplicate or duplicate image depending on the version of PS you have.

For the full version of PS (not Elements) there is a little icon that looks like this in the History palette you can use instead:

When you are done you will get a new document that looks the exact same as the one you were working on complete with all the layers. It doesn't save your history states on the new document but you'll have those on your old one.

Great tip! I usually just save the document with a different name before trying something new. I quite often end up with three or four of the same document (i.e. Easter1, Easter2, etc...) before deciding which one I like best. I'll have to start just duplicating the documents and see if that works out better for me.

great tip, april!

lol i do the same as alyson - save as a different name as i go, if i really adjust that much... sometimes, though, i also just have too many invisible layers for my own good.
