April,

In class you gave me a couple candybars to send you info on using the leading tool in elements. When using the text tool the leading tool is left of the color option and to the right of the right align text button.

Thanks Mich!!! I wonder if that is a newer feature in Elements. I bet it was added in Elements 4.0 when they added text boxes. I have 2.0 on my computer and it's not there. You are telling me to look in the options bar when the text tool is selected, right?

What is the leading tool and what does it do? I've got the full version (CS2) and I don't see it in the location described by Michelle. I wonder if it's in a different place for CS2. I am always looking for new and fun things to learn about photoshop, so I wanted to learn more about this. Of course, if I can't use this tool it won't help me out at all, but that's okay.

Kearning and leading has to do with spacing and sizing of a font. In the full version of PS you have tons of options for type. It's fun. Go to window then click on character and paragraph palettes and play with them and see what they do. There is a shortcut for this in your options bar for the text tool too.

That's awesome!! I can't believe I didn't know about that before. I've occasionally had problems with my journaling being spaced too far apart between lines. It only happens with some fonts or when trying to type on a lined tag. In those cases I always just made multiple text boxes. This will be so much easier. Thanks for the new tip; I always love learning something new about PS.

Thanks for posting that info. I thought you couldn't do leading in Elements. I have gotten used to doing it in Word, so it was frustrating to not be able to do it in Elements. I am going to have to check it out.
