I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do but you have the wrong order for whatever you are trying.
If you want to group with previous in Elements you can follow this tutorial... http://www.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/tips/clippingMasks.asp
It really has nothing to do with the clone stamp. You could do something else with the clone stamp first then use "group with previous" but I would probably want to hear more of what you are trying to accomplish to help you. I can't think of any reason why you would want to do this.
You may be confused because in yesterday's class I talked about creating a shape with the shape tool then merging a picture into that exact shape. If that's what you are tying to do let me know and I'll explain.

my shape that i want is already a stamp, It does not show up on my page when I stamp it. I can group with previous, I have that down. It is my stamp that has me confused.

The only thing I can think of, is that maybe you have a lower layer selected (a layer that is underneath everything and so it isn't showing up), or you don't have any layer selected. Usually when I use a stamp I make a new layer so that I can move it around by itself if I need to. To create a new layer, simply click the little square with a folded down corner in the layers palette. Make sure this layer is on top of the other layers, or above the layer you are trying to stamp; and make sure it is selected. Then stamp away.
I hope this helps. I have a way of rambling on...trying to make it more understandable, but it probably just becomes more confusing.
