I am trying to make the CD album taught a few classes ago. Pretty brave I guess for my first project ever. I drag a picture onto Page 1 layout but I want to rotate it to fit the photo 2 template. How do I get it selected so I can rotate it? Hope that makes sense.

Welcome!
I am the king of doing things the wrong way and the hard way. So I am sure that some will help you with an easier way. But here is how I rotate photos like that. I will use the crop tool (see photo) attached. I select the piece that I want to use. Fine adjust using the little boxes to get the selection right. Then hover the mouse outside of the corners until the straight arrow turns into a little curved arrow, then you can drag it around to get the rotation you want.
Did that help? And honestly there is probably easier ways and other people who can explain it better than I can. Good luck! And let us know if that helped or not

Keith's way is great if you are already cropping your photo, but there is another way. You just select you photo (either click on the layer you want selected in the layer palette or click on the layer on the page - use the move tool for the later). With that layer selected you should see little boxes around the outside of you selection. Do the same thing at this point as Keith's suggestion...hover your mouse just outside the corner until the arrow turns into a curved arrow. Press and hold the left mouse key while dragging the selection to the desired position.
P.S. In case you don't know all the terminology yet, the move tool is the little arrow...it's the one you can see it in the picture on Keith's post.

I would use the move tool too. If you can't see the little dots and tiny boxes surrounding your layer you can click on "show bounding box" in your options bar when the move tool is selected. There are several ways to do the same thing in PS but I think you'll find this is the easiest.

I don't get the boxes around the picture, it won't select the photo. Any help?

Just kidding. I'll select show bounding box. Thanks so much. I'm sure you'll hear from me again.
