My desktop crashed three days after I bought it (it is an HP). When I took it back to the store they wanted to send it off to be fixed, but I wasn't having that. I told them I didn't want anything to do with that computer, and didn't want to wait for it to be fixed. They finally conceded and gave me an unopened one of the same model. That one has been good now for 6 years...it is getting a little slow these days.

My computer crashed too! Very sad and so frustrating...luckily I am blessed to have Keith Oaks (the web master of this site) as my brother-in-law and he miraculously was able to save everything. It was a good lesson to back up important things though (like pictures and scrapbook pages!!!).

Sigh... Glad you finally get to start over but I'm so sorry it happened to you.

Wow! I didn't realize that was possible! I'd definitely have a funeral and a heart-attack if my iMac crashed like that, too. YIKES! Hold the iMacs you love close... :)

That 24" screen is the BEST for digiscrapbooking! It's practically makes it as large as the printed version of the page!

Once you go with a big monitor it is hard to work on smaller ones again. At work I have two 20" monitors side by side, and now I find it really hard to work on single monitors or smaller monitors. I think that a good monitor is probably the best investment you could make if you are going to use photo software often.

that's sooo true.. big investments, though... my hubby keeps fantasizing about the Mac 30" monitor. I was reading that someday they project that everything will be big touch-screen monitors! Then, digiscrappers might be more accepted by traditional scrappers... the ones who like the tactile part of paper scrapping.
