I have a question, hopefully you can understand it. First, I use Photshop Elements 5.0. Now the question. I would like to learn how to make something (photo, element, etc.) seem to be "popping" off the page. If you don't get what I'm trying to say I'll try and explain it better. I want an element to seem like a just placed it on there that its not really attached to the layout. How do I do this? Sorry, its long I just don't want you guys to be confused. Thanks for your help!

Would a drop shadow work? Is that what you want. There is a styles and effects palette somewhere on the top right of your PS screen. Use the drop down menu on that palette to find the drop shadows and add your favorite one. Make sure the right layer is selected. After you have done this go to the layers palette and click on the little fancy f in a circle which should be there once you add a style or effect. When you click on the fancy f in a circle thing you will get some options to change how the shadow looks so it's more realistic.
Was that what you wanted?

YOUR THE GREATEST! Duh, I feel stupid! I could have figured that out if I just looked a little harder! Another question, I've looked it up in the PSE help guide and it doesn't make any sense to me, what is "Magic Extractor, what does it do and how do you do it? Sorry, so many questions. Please don't get sick of me!

Here is a tutorial that might help you Jenny (http://http://photoshop.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=36439)
The magic extractor is just another way to do this (http://www.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/tips/cuttingImages.asp). I actually prefer this way because I'm good at it but a lot of people aren't so see which one you pick up first.
I really like when you ask questions. Seriously. I think it's good for the board. For anyone who has the full version of PS there is a way to do this but it's called something else. I think it's under filters. I can look it up if you want help.

I love the questions, it helps me see how others solve problems.
Sometimes they do it the way I do but most of the time I learn something new and am grateful the question was asked!
