Only one child at home right now, the others had youth conference out of town!!!
We took him to the movies and we will go out to dinner later tonight!
It is kind of weird (fun) to have him all to ourselves!

Too busy for any computer time...had a huge garage sale this weekend and it took all week to get ready for it. Feels good to get the clutter under control. Thanks to April for the class she provided us in Salt Lake!

I loved getting rid of my scrapbooking stuff too. It felt so good to reclaim so much space in the house.
We just got back from camping in Payson, UT. It was fun. We swam at the lake yesterday and played with cousins. It was fun to be with our family.

Ahh... I am trying to plan our trip this weekend. It's a family reunion and we are supposed to bring something homemade... any ideas?
Oh, and my son will turn 1 in aug. What did you guys do for themes? My husband wants pirates for a 1 year old! Yikes.

What type of homemade item Jamie? Food or something else?
Pirate Party! We had a totally fun one for my little boy. I took a head and shoulders picture of him in a pirate costume with a black background then I printed it 12x18 inches and laminated it. We used it for "pin the pirate patch on the pirate". I got a bunch of pirate patches from Zurchers, cut the strings off them and put tape on the backs for each child. With one year olds you seriously wouldn't even have to blindfold them, huh?
I also made 3 treasure maps. Each map had a bunch of dotted lines on a path and one big red X to mark the treasure. The maps really made no sence but the kids were totally happy to follow me around as I showed them how to find the treasure. The treasure was a bag of gold wrapped candy.

My son just went to a pirate party the other day. He's 4, but his favorite things from the party were a sword and eye patch that I think they ordered from Oriental Trading
company. He also liked a treasure chest piggy bank with a real lock on it. He keeps calling it his locket. I asked him about the games they played, but he just said they had a pinata, ate cake and ice cream, and opened presents. Sounds simple enough, but I liked April's idea of pin the patch on the pirate.

Those ideas are soooo good. I am new to all of this you know. :) Well I think that I will do a pirate party because everyone has great ideas and so it should be a no-stressor. Also, have you guys seen the pirate cake at Albertsons? I don’t know if I’ll do that but I think that it’s so cool. They’ll give you a personal baby cake too for your 1 yr. old for free. Speaking of his upcoming birthday... the grandma’s are wanting to know what they can get my son... I really need help getting a car seat... is that bad to ask for?
The Family reunion can be anything homemade... I was thinking H-O-M-E blocks... have you guys seen those?

I got my 30D yesterday! That's AWESOME! You are going to have to share pictures with us.
I bet your grandmas would appreciate knowing you want a car seat. If you are worried they will feel pressure to spend too much you could ask for gift certificates from a certain store that would go toward a car seat.
