Hello everyone. I wasn't able to make the class... I really really wanted to but I couldn't. I was just wondering what sorts of projects we learned in the slightly advanced... if any and if I could get a recap. I know it might be imposible, but... who knows. THANKS in advance!

I teach the beginner class so I am not helpful in telling you what was in the advanced class. But I noticed that Brooke posted a message about helping your black and white pictures. It is the message called "curves". That was one thing they covered at the class.

Great question!

We talked about photography backgrounds. I will start a thread in the Photography forum later.

We also talked about these topics below. I'll post links to threads or tutorials I have and you can tell me what topics you want me to start threads on (or start a new thread yourself).

Rounding Corners http://www.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/tips/roundingCorners.asp

Outlining Letters and Shapes (I taught how to take a font or shape and stroke it so you had an outline with a clear center)

Creating gradients - we specifically talked about going from a solid color and slowly changing that solid color to transparent.

Kearning and Leading

Warping text

BW pictures (gradient map, contrast – channel mixer)
I taught this because I loved what Tisha taught us here (http://forum.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/showthread.php?t=882&highlight=tisha)
and
Here is another thread Brooke started after the class (http://forum.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/showthread.php?t=1250)

Multiple pictures in shapes

Vivid Light/Luminosity

We talked about everything fairly fast. The topics above only took about half of the class time. We also had a quiz where I asked all sorts of questions and gave the people who answered the questions candy bars. After each question was answered we talked about each topic for a while. I have an idea for how I can incorporate that quiz onto this forum. I'll get back to you on that.
