I added the graphic pen filter to this picture four times as seen below. In PSCS2 I hit filter>sketch>graphic pen EVERY time yet I got the 4 different results below. Why? Specifically, why is #3 white? Did it work?

You probley had to change you levels to make it appear so clear. I think that it looks really cool.

My guess is that the filter does random things. I have no idea why 3 is white.

1st photo: blue shadows and white highlights; 2nd photo: switched from white shadows to blue highlights, so maybe the 3rd photo took only the whites and made white shadows and white highlights... the real question is how did the 4th photo get orange?

Great Tori! She got it. Actually, the only thing I changed was the colors. That's it.

A common mistake that is made when applying the filters is sometimes you'll come up with a solid color like #3. Tori, why would #3 come up solid white?

did you change the forgound color to be white as well as the background? acDanica answered right.

When my forground was set to blue and my background was set to white I got #1.

When I pressed X (remember that thread?) or in other words when my forground was set to white and my background was set to blue I got #2

When I had both my forground and background set to white I got #3.

I was thinking it was much more complicated than that.

Who has questions?

I guess I do. Is there a graphic filter in Elements? If not this lesson still applies to elements users. There will be certain filters that will follow this same principle.

I don't think I have ever played with that filter before.

I'm not sure about the graphic filter, but I know the concept is the same with other filters in Elements

You guys are way over my head. Thanks for your help with the corner folding. I think I will just sit back and read all your posts. I have learned a lot so far. :)
