no way! you're not dumb at this! I had a tough time figuring it out too. When you're typing a message you click on the icon that looks like a picture of the sun coming over the mountains (in between the talk bubble and the world) and that's the "insert image" button. Then it will take you to your hard-drive to choose what image you'd like to insert
