Some of you may not have Photoshop. I hope you can still learn something here. I choose to teach in PS since most people have it.

Angela - what other non-photoshop programs are you using? It would be great to have some time to learn some other programs as well, and hopefully build up a support section for them as well

I adore Digital Image Suite from Microsoft... :)
It's just about the perfect mix of technology and easy to use... :)

I use Corel Paint ShopPro photo XI. I am going to look like a dummy here BUT...I have PS2 but haven't installed it cause I think it will take up too much memory in my crummy little computer. Are the lessons you teach compatible with PS Elements?

I use memory mixers sometimes. I know that it is not an editing program but it is nice when you want to make quick pages without much thought! I am a CS2 user most of the time

Are the lessons you teach compatible with PS Elements? Yes. Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

I'm using The GIMP. It's a free program that you can download from www.gimp.org. It's a Linux-based program, and it's open-source. It's actually a really cool program, and I've been able to create layouts just fine in it.

I should definately remember that. I saw that before and played with it. It is pretty cool and does work amazing for a free program.

And GIMP has a windows install too. So it can run on xp for sure, and vista I believe. Very similar to photoshop as far as the basic functions.

We had an online class for an hour and a half yesterday where we started all 28 threads in this sub forum. We'll do more on other days.
You can also go here to read where you can find us in person. http://www.digitalscrapbookmemories.com/takeAClass.asp
