changing backgrounds on photos

I think someone has already asked this question but I couldn't find the thread so I'll ask again. How do you change a background in a photo? I have a really cute picture of my baby (of course!) but it also has a really bad shot of me with it. So I was wondering how I change the background. Either to something else or just make it plain.

you could cut the baby out using the magnetic lasso... there are detailed instruction on DSM website...

Instead of cutting your baby completely out of the picture you can use tools like the clone tool, bandaid tool etc to erase yourself out of the picture. I am swamped the next couple days but I would LOVE to teach you how to use those tools if no one else teaches you first. Remind me in a few days.
