Have you guys read the "Twilight (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight.html)" series? I read the first & second books in 24 hours each! They are awesome books! I'm waiting until this busy week (Scrapbook Expo) is over to begin the 3rd book because if I start it I know I won't be able to resist ignoring everything to read. If you haven't read them, you've got to try them. Yes, they are about vampires, but are written in a very clean, non-gory, non-creepy way. They are just fascinating stories.

I loved those books! They were great. The only thing that made me mad was I thought the latest book was the last and it wasn't! Now I have to wait until next Fall to find out what happens.

I just started listening to the first book today. I listen to books on tape because it is the only way I have time to read. I have a 20-30 minute drive to school so it makes perfect "reading" time. I'm like you Quinn, if I start reading a good book, I ignore everything else...and that wouldn't be good for my school work. Listening to books in the car is also a great way for me to limit the amount of time I spend reading. :)

They are good reads!! I finished all 3 in less than 3 days. :) And we just moved so I should've been unpacking.....oh well! :)

Are they as good as Harry Potter?

I think so. I'm a HUGE Harry fan, though, so I'd say they're fantastic, but can anything beat Harry Potter? If you like Harry, you'll LOVE these!

That's record fast, Brooke! I'm impressed! Especially since you were moving, too! wow!

What a smart idea! I heard that there's a really long waiting list to get these books on tape from the library, though.

I totally agree! I almost didn't read these knowing that they weren't done. (I HATE suspense & generally don't read books unless the series is completed). But, I succumbed & I'm glad I did.

Have you guys checked out the website (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/)? There's inside info! It's really addicting. My favorite section (http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight_movie.html) is where she tells what actors she pictures playing in all the parts in the upcoming movie.

I don't think they're as detailed or as complicated as Harry Potter (at least to me), but they are about as addictive!! It's a fun read for sure. It's fun to get caught in the romance.;)

ok, LOVE those books. i stayed in line till one oclock in the morning to get the third cause i use to be the 1st counselor in the yw pres. and we were heading off to girls camp that next day, and i could not wait any longer!! they are sooooo good!! the 1st book and 3rd book are my favorite. now, if you enjoy the book, go to the authors web site cause she rewrote the whole first chapter of the first book from Edwards point of view!! and the rights have been bought, and they are going to make a movie of it. and there is a bunch of other cool stuff on her site. "extras" you might call them. yeah, so i love to read, but have never enjoyed books as much as i love reading these. the 2nd book made me cry at one part. i won't say why cause i don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasnt read them yet..and i am babbling on now...:)

I've heard that she's going to rewrite the whole first book from Edward's view, but I don't know if that's true. I'm in the 2nd chapter of the first book now. Will it ruin anything if I read Edward's view before I'm finished with the book. Like...will it tell me why he acted the way he in Biology class later in the book?

OK you guys! My SIL is reading these and I thought she was crazy, but now I'm rethinking it because you all love it. But how can I have time to scrap and read these?

You could get the CDs like me and listen while you scrap. I'm on the 2nd CD now, and I'm finding it hard not to go take a drive just to listen some more. I've heard these books really hook you, but I wasn't expecting to really feel this hooked quite so soon. I may have to check out the first book and read it this weekend to save on gas. :)

LOL, my family friend has been raving about this series for awhile now, I haven't really had time, or remembered, to go to the library to get them.. I haven't read in awhie, I used to read like a book a day when I was younger! I love to read, but I have been way too busy lately.. I definately have a lot of downtime at work, hense me always being on here... hehe.. I think I will take the time to go get the books and start reading! Yay, can't wait to start!

Quinn, we haven't heard from you lately--what's been going on? I'm into Twlight now; sharing it every other night with my teenage step son; he's liking it too and it gives us more things to talk about. I like it--I'm wondering if I'm married to a vampire!!!!! :)

I finished Twilight only a few days after I started it...loved it!!! Now I'm listening to New Moon...a little angry at a certain person right now, but other than that I'm enjoying it.

totally want to start reading these books! Are they good enough to buy? Will I read them again? Or should I get them at the library?

Personally, I'm glad that I checked mine out at the bookmobile. I've read the book for four nights and I'm half way finished. Not as fast as Alyson :) but I'm sharing with my son. I'm at the point now that I have too many books around the house so I rather borrow. Alyson, you got me curious, who you're mad at--could it be Edward?

Wouldn't you like to know! That's why I was vague, because I didn't want to give anything away to those who haven't read them yet. I actually knew/know too much about the 2nd and 3rd book already. My cousin and sister used to talk about them in front of me even though I told them not to. They didn't think I'd remember any of it since I hadn't started reading them yet, and I didn't know who anyone was...they were wrong, but that's okay.

Alyson, you know how to keep the suspense--mystery ALIVE!!! :)
