San Diego Vacation

I'm going to San Diego Thursday and wondered if anyone knew of any fun things to do besides the usual Disney, SeaWorld, Zoo, Wild Animal Park? I know there are other exciting places to visit, but can't seem to find them. There is a group of about 60 of us that go every year and I'd like to do something original. HELP!

I went to San Diego once when I was about 15. I loved the area, but the thing that stands out most to me was the beach area that is near the Hard Rock Cafe. I don't really have any clue where exactly that is, but I know we went to the Hard Rock right after going to the beach and it was only a couple of blocks from the beach. The beach has large rocks and some tide pools I think. It was really beautiful!

I love old town, The San Diego Harbor, Whale Watching, Morning City / Tijuana Town. Those are my favorites. Now I want to go now... LUCKY-DUCKY!

I went there on my honeymoon and loved it! The gaslamp quaters are beautiful with some fabulous dining options. Day trips to La Jolla and Coronado Island are always good also. We also took a bus trip into Mexico that took us to Rosarita beach (awesome!) and some other stops along Baja as we travelled. Ask your resort as soon as you can about bus tours if that's something you'd like to do, I like them because you just sit back and let someone else worry about how to get there.LOL.

old town is wonderful.... eat lunch/dinner at miguel's on coronado (directly across from the del coronado)... boat ride around point loma is fun, too...

We liked Old Town, too. If they still have the trolley, that is a fun way to see the city. Have fun!

Thanks so much for all the fun ideas! We'll be there through the 13th. Now you don't really think I can go that long without getting on here do you? I have borrowed a cell phone internet connection for my laptop so I can connect in the car, at the condo, on the beach...ANYWHERE! YEAH! All my hobbies can continue & hopefully I'll have more time for them. Thanks again!

Seriously I'm so jealous that your Husband is letting you get on... We just got back really early today from Reno and when he found out I went on last week he was mad... but come on, when I’m on vacation I want to kick back and do the things I love to do. We were there because my sister had a baby. Plus you're scrappin' Your Daughter is Beautiful and your pages are fab!

Jamie, my husband just got here so he's watching the Cowboys squeak out a win and I'm on the forum "together time" he says since we are at least in the same room. I guess we both win! Thanks for the compliments-the two things I love -my family and scrappin'.
We found a great outlet mall and shopped today to our hearts content! Tomorrow to teh beach!

Is it warm there?

It's only 70 so it's a bit chillier than I hoped. Being from Southern Utah I'm used to 90+ weather. The ocean breeze is the killer. My boy doesn't care (he's crazy jumping in the waves and running around) but little sis is unhappy with the wind blowing in her face. I really want to put her feet in the sand though. My son HATED the sand the first year we came with him and now can't get enough but his initial reaction was priceless!
