I just found out you can borrow eAudiobooks from the library. Do you see any here (http://slco.lib.overdrive.com/31E166CA-196F-481E-8C4D-F9A06538DF0A/10/110/en/SearchResults.htm?SearchID=15135409&SortBy=title) that I should read? I know so many of you are into the Twilight series. That is absolutely NOT my kind of book but I will definitly try them because EVERYONE seems to be raving about them.

I'm usually into non-fiction or self help books although I did read a fiction book lately that I enjoyed. It wasn't my favorite but I did enjoy it (Austenland).

Here is the link to the books available at my library to download (http://slco.lib.overdrive.com/31E166CA-196F-481E-8C4D-F9A06538DF0A/10/110/en/SearchResults.htm?SearchID=15135409&SortBy=title) (so you can help me pick a good book)

Books I would suggest to you:

The Hiding Place (http://www.amazon.com/Hiding-Place-Corrie-Ten-Boom/dp/0553256696/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-4047317-4190512?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192072862&sr=8-2) by Corrie Ten Boom. This is my FAVORITE book ever. It really makes you think... and appreciate life.

Beyond Survival (http://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Survival-Chapter-Message-Personal/dp/1555253334/ref=sr_1_3/102-4047317-4190512?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192072917&sr=8-3) by Gerald Coffee. This is a link to a talk on tape not his book. The book is great but it's a little too bloody and real. The talk on tape is absolutely amazing. You'll be so inspired. This man survived something like 7 years as a POW. Most of that time was in solitary confinement. His story of faith and overcoming challenges is incredible!!!

The Millionaire Next Door (http://www.amazon.com/Millionaire-Next-Door-Surprising-Americas/dp/1567315682/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-4047317-4190512?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1192073043&sr=1-1http://) Not a get rich quick book. It just reminds you that the average millionaire is the guy next door who drives an old car and is careful with his money. I really love this book.

Rich Dad Poor Dad (http://slco.lib.overdrive.com/31E166CA-196F-481E-8C4D-F9A06538DF0A/10/110/en/ContentDetails.htm?ID=08805550-19E4-400C-89C7-DB8E73A778C8) This is a quick easy read.

I recently read "The Measure of a Man" by Sidney Poitier. It's his autobiography and it was really interesting. Toward the end he got a little philisophical and I didn't enjoy that part as much, but it was still worth reading. I checked and your library has it available as an eBook.

WOw! The possibilities! Now I can download twilight and read it at work, instead of having to wait on a hold list at the library! I'm going to renew my library card! Can't wait!

I am reading this book called Under a Flaming Sky. It is a true story about a very crazy and gigantic fire that burned an entire town called Hinkley back in the 1800's. It is a little graphic, but fasinating nontheless. I can't really say I recommed it because it is really sad and horrible what these people went through, but it is interesting and modern day fire fighters and forest service people learned a lot about fire control from it.

April, I just remembered that the book I suggested has the f word in it quite a few times...not like every other word or anything, but probably 10 or so. I just thought I should tell you because you may not want to read it if that would bother you.

I've been reading a lot of Beverly Lewis. She has a few different series out about Amish life. They are fiction and have been pretty good. I love to read and would love to get ideas for new authors. I tend to find one I like and read everything they have, then move on to the next one. I just got Twilight from the library and can't wait to find some spare minutes to read it. I keep hearing how good that series is. I'm jealous of the downloadable ebooks. I wish that would catch on out here.

There's also Bookins (http://www.bookins.com), which is more of a book swap than a rental. You get points when someone wants your book, and you only pay $4 something for shipping every time you request one.

A good book I like is called "Who Moved My Cheese." It is easy reading and can be read in about an hour. It is a wonderful self help book.

I just finished Twilight. It was really good. I had a little bit of a struggle because I am definately not a huge fan of romance novels. They just aren't my thing, but this one was good. I had a hard time putting it down and look forward to reading the second book in the series. By the way, the book is "clean," but it is about Vampires. It doesn't have an evil feel at all, but is suspenseful.

O.K. I've got to read them now. Everyone I know is reading it or has already read it.

April,
I was hesitant about reading Twilight as well. My friends told me to read it for about a year. Another friend of mine who is very similar to me convinced me to read it. I LOVED THEM. I read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse in about 4 days. I had cryptosperidium at the time so I was confined to my room and bathroom. It was not fun, but I read the books. Another good book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coheln. That is not his last name I don't think. I can't remember, but that has been my favorite book this year. I will look at my book clubs list of books and suggest more. I too LOVE THe Hiding Place.

Ok... I read Twilight. I finished it a few days ago. I did enjoy it. It wasn't my favorite but I did enjoy it and I loved having a mindless book to read. Thanks!

so my sister in law did NOT want to read twilight, she hates anything that has to do with vamps! needless to say she went through the book in one night! the second the next and so on! and her husband was making fun of her for going through them that fast, well guess what! Yup, he stayed up reading it the first night cause he like it so much! I thought it was funny!

I agree about having a mindless book to read. Sometimes youjust have to have one. My friend's 14 year old son loved Twilight as well.

Just finished Eclipse which I enjoyed, but not as much as the first two.

Here's my suggestion for great reads that are really clean. It's the Maisie
Dobbs mystery series. Anyone read them? They take place in London in the late 1920s and early 30s.

Here's a link to the author's website & a description of each book. Start at the top as you learn great details about Maisie in the first that you'll want to know before moving on to the others. I loved them all! In fact, I think I'll get them from the library for a reread. *Ü*

Happy reading!

HEre are some other good books. One is the Goose Girl and the other is the Princess Academy. I think Shannon Hale wrote both of them.

I haven't read Princess Academy yet...it's on my TBR (to be read) list, but I loved Goose Girl. Shannon Hale is an excellent author. And, if you love A&E/BBC's version of Pride and Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth) you'll love Austenland. It's a quick, fun read about a girl who is in love with Mr. Darcy, as portrayed by Colin Firth. Austenland was Hale's first adult book.

The Goose Girl Series:
2nd book - Enna Burning
3rd book - River Secrets

Many people in my family are big fans and I'm planning on reading these as well. Always good to hear some other positive recommendations of these books.

I really need to stop checking the forums!! I am doing chemistry homework and ever 30 min. or so I need a break...this is my break, so sorry if I'm posting way too much tonight! :o

Those are it. I picked up River Secrets knowing it was her newer book. I did not realize it was the 3rd one until my friend pointed it out. Iguess I will read the other one first.
