To post an avatar you need to go to the User CP (control panel) in the dark grey bar above on the left.
On the left hand side you have a bunch of options... choose edit avatar.
Option two is the easiest. Option one requires Photobucket or something.
Your avatar picture must be 80 by 80 pixels or smaller and 19.5 KB or smaller. Do you all know how to do that? In photoshop you choose file then save for web. A pop up window will appear that will allow you to change the pixels to 80 pixels or smaller (under image size on the right). Make sure your biggest side is only 80 pixels. If the number under your picture is higher than 19.5K you can change the file type (on the right side) to jpeg med or small.
In case you are curious... in your user CP the "Edit Profile Picture" is the picture everyone will see if they click on your user name to look at your profile.
I would recommend looking through all the options in the CP to see what is available.
