I am taking Lauren to Build A Bear today and want to get some fun pics.
Was hoping to shoot in manual but indoor shots in manual are really tough. Anyone have any help they could offer on what my setting should be? Obviously the lighting will not be great! THANKS!!!!!!!

i put my white balance on white balance (on my nikon it's incandescent or something like that) and my ISO on 1600 (some camera go up to 3200 but at that point it's WAY too grainy)...then i have my aperture wide open (or pretty close to wide open), which can be sort of tricky....and then i set my shutter speed on whatever it tells me it needs to be at. :)

Definitely watch your shutter speed. Try to keep it above at least 1/125. If you can't crank up your ISO.

Grandma took DD to Build a Bear in Myrtle Beach last summer. The light in there was great. I was using my old point and shoot digital camera. I took lots of pictures with the flash off and they turned out fine.

(I'm on an uncalibrated monitor that is old and dark. These were good when I looked at them last summer!)

I forgot to say, with my new Nikon D50 and my kit lens (18-55 mm) I've found that it's not too bad at 1600 ISO. If I don't like the "grain" I run the free version of NoiseWare. Maybe your Build-a-Bear will have good light and you won't need such a high ISO.

Have fun!
