View Full Version : what to do with white clothing

i shot this family this month and the mom and daughter both wore white shirts...i metered and they were up against a red barn in the shade. i haven't learned raw yet, so i'm shooting in jpeg...anyways...the white shirts are "blown" in a few shots and i'm wondering what is the best/easiest way to fix this. i have cs2...the scott kelby cs2 book and tons of actions. help!!!!!!

Maybe if you post the pictures we could look at them and give you better advice!? You could try using the burn tool to bring them back but I'm not sure how blown they are.

Just what I was thinking Jamie! Shelley, post one and we could see if anyone knows how to fix it. Do you have any that you could swap parts out for?

My best advice would be to try duplicating the picture layer then correcting it. When you are done correcting it use a soft edge eraser to erase back the original white shirts.

Actually it would be best to adjust on adjustment layers, then erase back using the black and white paint brushes, do you know what I mean? I don't feel like writing the whole explaination unless you need it.
