Actions are pretty easy to use but I don't think you can use them in Elements. I think you can only use actions is the full versions. I hope I'm wrong and someone here can tell us Elements is now able to support actions. Do you see a place for actions anywhere in Elements (maybe under window)??

Are they actions or plug-ins? You can use plug-ins in Elements.

According to their website, they call them actions and can be used with Photoshop or Elements. The program has an .atn extension if that helps.

Here is one tutorial...

http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/actions.htm

and Moni from Digi Shoppe Talk wrote these instructions...

1. Assuming you have each action or action set in a folder containing it and and it's thumbnail...

2. Copy the entire folder (from step 1) to the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects\photo effects folder. The "application data" folder is usually hidden on most computers, so you'll have to type the address in.

3. Rename the .psd file that came with your Elements ready action to thumbs.psd (This is required because old versions wanted the icon named the SAME as the action file, PSE 5.0 wants it named "thumbs".)

Wow - thanks for the website. I just downloaded a couple of the freebies to see how they'd work. :)
