Color challenge

I have had fun with the color challenge. Do you guys want to keep this going? Can I nominate Jill to pick the next idea for what we take pictures of? She was the first to post a picture (after me). Jill if you want to start a new thread on Wednesday or Thursday when the other is over that would be great.

When I did these challenges before on a photography message board (that no longer exists) we would all critique or compliment each others pictures. The critiquing was only for those who asked for it. I always asked for critique and I ended up learning a lot. We would also vote on our favorite picture and the winner would get to pick the next challenge. I'm not sure if that would work on this forum but we could try. I think if we vote on the pictures we would have to have the person who chose the idea to privately collect the votes through Private Messages.

Would this be fun or should we keep things mellow and just post and look rather than vote?

Other challenges I remember doing were things like:
Take a picture of your city or town.
Other color challenges (this was most popular)
Take a picture and make a CD cover out of it.

You know, the one thing about voting that is good is it really pushes you to do better. I like contests for that reason.

Also, on the things we choose to photograph - I think they need to be fairly easy for anyone to participate in. For example don't choose "photograph the mountains" because not everyone has mountains or has the time to do that.

i love the challenge, it forces you to be creative. I took so many yellow pictures to get the one I posted... but it was fun .

I would go for the critique but maybe not the vote... but either works for me ...

I didn't realize what you meant by the vote, but that might be fun. I probably wouldn't get that many great shots with my point and shoot. I do get the occasionally great one, and maybe sometimes I can use my parent's DSLR when I'm at home, but I would just participate for the fun. (I'm still looking for my yellow picture...I better get a move on)

I think this sounds like lots of fun and I will totally do the next challenge. I will do it on a new thread right now! I really like the critique thing. Good idea!

I like this challenge stuff and I would also like some constructive critiqueing too. I want to get better.
