Here's how it works:
We post pictures and info for layouts, then someone else scraps them for us! It's fun to see different styles and techniques.

Post your pictures by Wednesday, February 6 at 10:00 PM. You'll download and do a page for the person who posted pictures just above you. Be sure to include: photos, journaling, dates, and your preferred size (12X12, 8.5X11, etc).

You'll need to post the finished layout by Sunday, February 10, at 10:00 PM.

Title: Guitar Hero or something else creative
Journaling: On Christmas morning, after all the presents had been opened, we decided to break out Aly's new Guitar Hero game and rock out! Katie was the only one who was any good, because she had played it before. By the end of the week, we had all improved immensely.

Journaling: Amber and I went to Bridal Expressions so we could find the perfect dress for her wedding. This is where I got my dress; they have a great selection! She looks fabulous in them all, but there was not doubt which one would be THE ONE.

Journaling: This was our Whitney Christmas party. We went sledding, had dinner and exchange presents. Nich thought it was funny to wrap my present in tons of boxes getting smaller and smaller and wrapped in duct tape. It was interesting!

Title: Keaton's 11th Birthday
Journaling: Because Mom was on a Caribbean cruise for my birthday, I celebrated at the Carter's house. Sherene made me my birthday pancakes as mom instructed her to do. I loved my presents-- playstation game, jerky, gum and a Symphony candybar--my favorite-with a 100 dollar bill attached. I think Mom felt guilty that she left me on my big day so she tried to make up for it.

Title: Christmas Toys
Journaling: Cannon, Gracie and Aidan were so excited when they saw the present that we gave them. It became the toy of the day! They started to play with it immediately, and didn't want to stop!!

Crystal, I do love it!!:cheer: Thanks so much! I love the background paper with the circly swirly things on it and the way you lined all the pics up in a row. It looks fantastic!! I can't wait to print it out and put it in my album!!!!!

I haven't even thought about the colors for the other pages I am going to do, but I really like the colors you have picked out. The other page is actually at a different location on a different day, so if I can't match these colors it won't be a huge deal (all the same people were there then also which is why I didn't mind if you left someone out).

I will do your pictures Kelly. I am not a speed scrapper so it may be a few days before you get them. Here are my photos. You can put the journaling into your own words, here is the story of what happened.
You and Jackson got a playhouse for your birthday and daddy was building it. You were told to stay out of it until it was all done. You and Nate decided to move the picnic table over to it and climb in it. You jumped out and hurt your arm. You played at the playground that night and said, "Look mom, I can move my arm." You woke up in the night multiple times because your arm hurt. I called the dr. the next morning and they said to bring you in. Well, you had a buckle fracture and got your cast on. Luckily they put it on fast so we could make it to family pictures on time.

I know there is a lot of journaling, but how do you shorten such a big event?

Ya know, with all the stress I was under this week, I have to admit, this swap was fun and enjoyable. There's just something about doing other people's pictures--it makes a connection with the other person. I liked it. Thanks Alisha for prompting and encouraging us each month.

I picked up a few techniques too along the way. I learned I had to drop shadow, glow, etc. before I merged two items together if I wanted the top one dropped shadowed. (A little wordy right there) Also, I made the canvas 12x24--and that took FOREVER to save each time. Eventhough it helped me in the layout, I don't think I'll do that again. Anyway, I enjoyed it and LOVE this forum.

Alisha--when I would change something on my 12x24 and then save it-it took my computer longer to save than it does 8.5 x 11's. I just got impatient with it. I did like how it lines everything up and I'm glad I experienced that.

Crystal, I'm rereading this thread and looking at all the pages and I missed you too along with Alisha. I guess I was under too much pressure this week and didn't pay much attention to things I should have:)

How did you get your page finished soo fast:) --you were on the first page and I just thought layouts wouldn't start until the second or third page. It looks so nice--I love the colors and the pictures framed along the top.

Alyson, where are you? Taking the pictures? Now, what's the advice you have heard many times? We don't always have to be behind the camera--give it to someone else so that occassionally, we can be in the photos:)

Britt - I love the Christmas page! I really like the photos blocked that way, with the embellishment in the middle. Very cute.

I have some other Guitar Hero pictures from a different time we were playing, and there's a picture of me in that group. I should stay behind the camera, because I do crazy things when people take my picture. I was the only one in all the pictures that did anything crazy with the guitar. Alyson, how fun--I love your guitar picture--YOU SHOULD HAVE included that one in your posted pictures. It's perfect for the page. Thanks for sharing that with us. Are you getting pretty good with that strumming? Do you sing along while your playing--I love the SMOKE ON THE WATER--That's about the only one I can play and sing at the same time.:)

Love your pages too--That makes it REALLY DIFFICULT to choose which one--I would take them both and put them side by side in my book.

Alyson... how far are you on that game? I can't beat the hard level and i'm going mad!

Jamie, I started on easy since I had never played before. I did all of easy and medium and I'm now working on the hard level. I can't beat Tom Morello though (btw this is guitar hero 3). It's funny to go back and play easy now because I can't believe I once thought some of those songs were hard. :D

My memory card had a problem and erased all my info the other day, so now I have to start over on hard. It really stinks because there's a couple of songs I never wanted to play again.
