After this class you'll have all the tools you need to adjust your photos and make them the best they can be!

Remember that you have to call in for the audio. It is a long distance call so plan accordingly. Some use cell minutes, calling cards or land line long distance. My last 2 hour class phone charge was $4.56. Not a bad price for a 2 hour class ;)

I'm signed up!! Is it a toll call or a long distance call? Just wondering because I have free long distance. ;)

I want to do this class so I need to check my schedule.

Alishaw

It's a long distance call depending on what number they assign at the time. It's a different call center sometimes.
I'm so excited you guys will be there! We'll have a fun time!

This sounds so fun. Perfect timing as well. My friend's daughter just got engaged and they want me to take some engagement photos. Their real photographer will only do the bridals, temple, and reception so I get to play. Good thing the wedding is not until June. I hope I have a place to live by then though. We just accepted an offer on our house and still have not found one to live in yet. They want to close March 21. I may be camping out in my parents' basement which means I will still have internet access. Yay! I love these online classes!

Is there anyway we can download transcripts from the classes? I don't know if you guys record them. I'm just seeing some of the classes that I won't be able to attend because of work schedules - ones i'm SUPER SUPER interested in... Heck, even if someone wanted to record the class, then send me the tapes - I'd type up the transcript! haha!

PS. I'm FINALLY going to post some LO this weekend! I've been working on a couple different ones... hopefully they will be done... i've got such a limited time frame that I can work!!! EEK!! Now I gave myself a deadline! Hopefully I'll make it! haha!

Kelli West
02-29-2008, 05:03 PM
Jessica, I am not sure if they are recorded! You will have to ask April or Alisha!! And I cna't wait to see some of your LO's!!! I need to work on some!

Alishaw

Jessica, we have toyed with the recordings and the quality is an issue (perhaps that's just ME) but I will repeat these classes again. There are about 6 in this first series of classes and I will do one a month so there is plenty of time to let it sink in and then I'll start repeating them. It's really based on interest so although I know viewing them later would be cool, it means you won't attend a LIVE one next time if you watch the old one. So pretty soon you won't need me any more and I really want to be needed (does that sounds whiney?) HA!

Alyson

We will always need you Alisha!!! (and no you don't sound whiny) :ILoveIt:

Alisha I can't believe that you think we won't ever need you. Just remember that you will always be needed to clean up after Brooke and her messy carmel apples.

It's actually a live screen shot of my computer which is Photoshop Elements and then we walk through the steps to create, save, print and more! It's really fun because you can type questions and make comments and I can answer them live or just type to you. Should be a fun day!

SO, it only costs if we pay for the phone usage right? We aren't actually sending you money right? (Not that I would mind; it's a great price. I'm just broke.) And, also... I'm not sure I have enough minutes on my phone (I don't have a land line), can we still follow along without listening? THere is a video going along with it right, it would just be on 'mute'...?

Alisha just disregard the part about me missing the class in the email I sent you. For some reason I thought this was a Saturday class. I guess if we get together this weekend, you would have told me anytime but the class. Can you tell I need a vacation?

Alishaw
03-19-2008, 11:59 PM
We do a lot of talking throughout the class so you are welcome to try it without sounds, I'd just hate for you to miss anything and there is not a handout so....
You do not pay for the class you pay for your phone whether it's cell or long distance or calling card or whatever.
Britt-yeah you'll be there then!

Crystal, Come over and we can take the class together...or maybe I can go over there. Then I won't be lost just in case.

How come I didn't get a reminder of the class tonight? I need the phone number to call. I'll just look it up. It was just so easy to get that reminder; I hope the class is still on.

Kim Hansen

If I don't make it online tonight for the class 2nite, it's because my internet isn't working.. I have been fighting with it all day... I am lucky to get on here now! I sure hope I can get on!

If not, you all have fun, and if there is material (slideshow, presentation that I can get) that would be great.

Thx!
Amber

So I totally missed the whole thing. I didn't know I was on-call and wouldn't you know, the one night this week I have something planned I get called in for a 2 1/2 hour surgery.:( If anyone has some highlights from the class that they'd like to share, I'd love a crash-course.

Alyson

Meagan, so sorry to hear you missed the class. This was the first time I was able to stay for longer than 20 minutes of a class. It was a lot of fun, and I learned quite a few new tricks to use.

Here's my favorite:

To create a black and white photo (or sepia, or other hued photo):
1. Open your picture
2. Click the little divided circle in the layers palette. (it on the top for elements users and on the bottom of the layers palette for full version users)
3. Select gradient map.
4. Chose the gradient you want to use. (Black to white for B&W and brown to white for sepia)

For some color boost and a slight antique look:
1. Follow the steps above.
2. Select the blending mode as overlay.
3. Change the layer opacity for the look you want.

Thanks Alisha for teaching us some new ways to improve our photos!! You are awesome!

Thanks guys for attending or trying to attend. It's a whole different world teaching advanced because you don't explain every step in detail so I flew through the material. I appreciate your comments and questions.
Hopefully everyone got a little something they can use!

Alisha, the whole session was benefical to me. I didn't get to play with it after the class because I had to do the dishes, but I'm planning on it this morning. When I filled out my survey, I accidentally pushed submit before it was completed. It was wonderful. Thank you for answering my questions that were not related to the class outline. I just love these classes and want you to know how much I appreciate them. THANKS.

I am so sad that I missed the class. I have not been on this site for 2 days due to crazy stufff going on. I completely missed the class. Thanks for the tip Alyson. I am going to try it. Hopefully my best friend Alisha will do another class that I can really attend. I will pay you in entertainment. I will get Brooke to eat another carmel apple.:cantBreathe::p

I'm so glad, Crystal, JoDee & Paula, that you got something out of it! Please let me know what I can do differently for next time so when my best friend Brittany attends, it will be worth the caramel apple she's going to make Brooke eat ;)
