Altered Art??

Challenge 9 is to do anything using Atlered Art. What is altered art??

Back in November I posted these pictures where I made a picture look like a sketch. Do you think that is considered altered art?

My understanding of altered art is taking something already in existence and adding to it. I used to do altered books--taking a book, painting the pages, adding embellishments. Or a playing card and doing the same thing. That's how I remember it...hope that helps. And that I'm right!

Looking through the galleries of what people had made with the altered art especially helped me get some ideas on how to do this.
