So, I have seen several of you say that you would like to scraplift a page that you like. What is that?

Scraplifting means you see a page you like and you copy it. You let someone else do all the thinking for you.

Ok, thanks, Jill. I think I may have to scraplift all the pages on this forum!

Scraplifting is totally the way to go. Not because it makes you a cheater, but it will inspire you and before you know it, your page is totally different from the one you stole.
Although there are times that I do copy things exactly because I love the page so much.

When you scraplift I think you should always link to the original if you post the page online in an effort to give the original credit.

how do you do it?

It's just a matter of stealing ideas from a page that you like and them doing that same thing yourself with your own pictures and embelishments. That is how I taught myself Photoshop. I would find a page I liked and then copy everything about it. I learned a ton from doing that.

The way I do it is keep the page up on the web while I am copying it. That way I can see it while I am trying to recreate it. Or, you can save a copy of it and have it open in PS while you are scrapping...

The easiest way to scraplift is to have your cute sister send you all her pages, save them and then copy them. It works great! That way she can do all the research about new techniques and all you have to do is ask her how it's done! :yep:

I subscribe to a scrapbook magazine and that often gives me ideas because I will see something I like. I usually try to make the idea my own by changing it up. I don't think I've ever copied a page exactly. But just seeing what others have done can give you an idea of what looks good.

Dang! I was wishing that there was a way that I could just pick a page and my pictures would jump into place and then it would look great and be done in a short time!
