After laboring over printing thumbnails for a couple of hours (doing the cut and paste thing...and print screen doesn't usually come out very well for me; not to mention the HP program I was using to make the contact sheet didn't recognize png files), I figured this out:

1. "Explore" the folder the files you want to print as thumbnails are in
2. Select all the files you want to print as thumb nails (you can use the shift or control key to select multiple files...I selected all the png files
3. Right click and choose print...the photo printing wizard appears
4. Follow the on-screen instructions (basically choosing next to choose your printer options; for the png files, I chose to print on both sides of the paper because my printer will automatically duplex) It lets you choose whether to print as a whole page (for the full sheet files) or scroll down and choose contact sheet. The best thing is the contact sheet automatically prints the name of each file under the thumbnail! No more wondering exactly which collection it came from! :cheer:

Hope you find this as useful as I did!

Thanks Elsie. That is so sweet of you. I have wondered how you would go about doing that.

you can also do contact sheets in photoshop! i know cs2 can do it. not sure if the elements can. you just go to FILE-AUTOMATE-CONTACT SHEET hope that helps. You can print it right there!! it loads it and all!!

Wow Kelli, I didn't know that about CS. I tried it and it worked. Took a little longer though (course, I chose a file that had 56 images in it), but it was nice to be able to choose the number of columns and rows. I had looked for someway to do it in that Bridge part, but I didn't see it. Thanks for the info.
