Okay last night April was teaching us how to take the HeartScroll embelishment from the Moods Cd (Love Mood) and make it monochromatic. I have followed the steps and gotten the main scroll to change colors but it doesn't change all the little dots and I remember she said there was an easier way than clicking on every dot with your paint bucket. I think I forgot to write down a step!

I think I remember this from a class too. I wish my notes weren't boxed up. I would see if I could find it. sorry!

I think that she did a ctrl+click on the picture in the layers pallet. That selected the whole image and put marching ants around it.
I had a great time last night and I'm enjoying the CD (Back To School) that I pick up.

I found something on Adobe's site, but I don't think it was the way I was thinking of....so, I don't know if it's right. I tried it and I think the select>similar one worked best. Maybe this isn't even what you were thinking of. I wasn't at the class, so I dont know
Include areas of similar color in a selection
In the Editor, make a selection with a selection tool and do one of the following:
Choose Select > Grow to include all adjacent pixels falling within the tolerance range specified in the options bar. (You may have to switch to a selection tool that includes a tolerance range, such as the Magic Wand tool.) A higher Tolerance value adds a broader range of colors.
- I used the magic wand tool.
Choose Select > Similar to include pixels throughout the photo, not just adjacent ones, that fall within the tolerance range.
To increase the selection incrementally, choose either command multiple times.
Note: You cannot use the Grow and Similar commands on photos in bitmap mode.

I wish I could help, but I wasn't there to know. Who won the retreat trip by the way?

The winner wasn't anyone on the message board but she is friend's with Tori who is on here and said Tori could go with her.
Jennifer here are the steps. Stacy got it right but missed one step:
1) Press control and click on the layer you want to select. If you click on the right part of the layer it will create a selection exactly around everything on that layer.
2) Create a new layer and fill the selection on that layer with the color you want.
3) Hide or delete the original layer and deselect the selection.

Thanks April, IT WORKED! I am so excited that you showed us this Saturday. I am on a roll and getting something done for the first time in awhile.
