How do I make my black and white pics have only 1 color in specific area.
Meaning, I want a black and white pic and want to only have the lips in color...

What version are you using, that was confusing to me.. LOL Isn't there an eaiser way, by using one of the tools and erasing the B&W in the area to be color, it puts the color that is there already.. Does this make sense?
Thanks so much though, I am going to try that way again, until I get it right..

Open a color photograph (File > Open).
Click on the black and white circle at the top of the Layers palette and choose Hue/Saturation from the menu.
When the dialog box comes up, drag the Saturation slider all the way to the left to turn your photo into black and white. Click okay.
Select the Brush tool, and choose a brush from the Brush Picker menu in the Options Bar. Make sure the Opacity in the Options Bar is 100%
Make sure the Foreground Color Chip is black. If it isn't, press the letter "D" to get the default colors of black and white.
Paint on your photo wherever you want to see color.
To paint away color, press the letter "X" to switch the Foreground color to white. Painting with white reveals the black and white adjustment layer.
You can also reduce the opacity of the brush in the Options Bar to get a partial painted effect.
I did this and it's not working, am I doing something wrong? Arggg...

What part isn't working. Where do you get stuck. I am using elements 6, but i have 4 also.

Here might be your problem...the key is making sure you have the adjustment layer chosen when you paint black or white over it. So click the little white square thumbnail on that adjustment layer. It should have two thumbnails on that adjustment layer: a graph looking one and a plain white square with a link between the two.
See what that does...

Hey your all to nice! THX!
Zach is good so far! However being back here in NY always brings back bad memories. Since we have been here 2 children have passed who are very dear to us, and 3 are on the verge! All with the same cancer as Zach, it's truly heartbreaking! However even with that were still hopeful and moving forward productively and STRONG!
Thx. for helping me w. the B&W w. Color stuff..
