Creating Brushes out of text

At the retreat Alishaw was so great to teach me how to use brushes. I was so excited to use it in some pages I am working on and now, I can't get it to work. I want to make a brush out of text. So I typed the text the way and size I wanted it and then simplified it. Selected it and created a new layer. I am not sure what i am doing wrong but when I go to my edit>define brushes, it is not a choice. It will let me do it as a pattern, but not a brush. I looked in previous threads to see if that helped, and it didn't. Can you all help me?? Thanks so much!

If the text is too big it isn't allowed to be a brush. Try resizing it to less than 200 pixels-I think that was the number. I had that same problem at the retreat. Correct me if I have it wrong photoshop gurus.

OH! Thank You! Thank you! I got it to work! Now i have a lot of scrapping to do! Too bad it is getting so late. when I am done with it I will post it. Just keep in mind I am a beginner!

Traci thanks for asking this question!! I was having problems with this very thing at the retreat too and now I know how to make it work!!!
