The FREE June & July Beginner classes are scheduled for

Saturday June 28 9:00 AM-11:00 AM MST (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/639836852)

Wednesday July 16 7:00-9:00 MST (https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/873856269)

Click on the day you want and it will take you to the sign up link.

Remember that you will be learning via LIVE online class. High speed internet is the most effective way (although some have participated on dial-up) and you will need to call a long distance phone number for the audio so please plan accordingly with either cell phone minutes or home long distance. My last 2 hour class from a land line cost me $6.12.

Also REMEMBER that the class times are Mountain Standard Time-so you'll need to convert for your time zone :D

If you have any questions, post them here! We really do have a great time, so if you are debating joining us, I think you'll enjoy it! See ya there!

Hello,
I just signed up for the class. I have always wanted to go digital for many reasons, but convience is the main reason, I can scrap anywhere. I own PSE 4, basically have never used it, do I need to purchase 5 or 6 to stay in sync with all the new software? I was told since I am new at this, I should not purchase the others bc I will not use the additions until I know how to use the software, at that time I might wish to purchase an updated version, what do you think?

I would stick with PSE 4. You don't need anything else for the class right now. Alisha is used to teaching the class to people with various versions of PS so you'll be fine. Just make sure to ask questions everytime you have them so we can all help you out.

Welcome to the board!

I agree. A lot of people here have PSE 4 and they make amazing layouts. One thing you might want to do is to add a signature to your profile and write in there that you are using PSE 4. That way when you ask questions we'll know what program you have and know better how to help you. Do you know how to do that? Just click on "user CP" in the gray bar at the top of the forum page and it will take you to your profile. Then you can select "edit signature" and you can put your name, program and/or camera you're using, a fun quote, whatever you want. We love to see new people. Stick around and ask lots of questions! Welcome to the best forum around!

Is it worth it for me to take this class since I am using Jasc Paint Shop Pro and not Photoshop Elements or some other Photoshop??? I don't know anything about Elements, and I'm not sure how it and PSP differ. I do know that I've bought digital scrapbook magazines and could do almost none of the tutorials that were in them because they were using Elements.

Then maybe you should go get elements. You can do so much with it. And you can buy elemnts 4 for only 30 dolla!

I didn't think Alisha had it in her to not be nice to someone. Of course, I haven't met her but she seems so sweet.

She really is sweet. I don't think she would even squash an ant. I like to tease her though.

Hi Alishaw,
Thanks for hosting this training.

I have the Mac progam "I-remember". I just purchased it and am trying to figure it out. Will this traiing be helpful to me as well? Should I but the digital scrapbook compatable templets first, prior to the raining?

Thanks, Kara

Hi guys! I'm back in town-sorry I've missed you! Kara, I'm only good with Mac Photoshop compatibility so I don't know I-remember AT ALL! Join us and see what you think as we go along. I would think there would be similarities since photoshop is kinda the standard, but you'll have to adapt it a bit!
PS- I hate squooshing ants! Hi Paula! Glad you're lurking!!

Yeah, my very first post! I am such a new-bee. I just got Corel's Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 for Mother's Day. I am way over my head. LOL I have been trying to learn on my own, but that seems to just frustrate me. Of course, I know it ALL can't bee learned overnight (darn it!) I am hoping I can take this class - do you have to take both classes?!? Or is it offered two different times?
I am moving my Mom to a new nursing home on the 28th of June, but am hoping to bee able to do the July one if possible. If not, I will wait for the next class to bee offered!
Sorry--didn't mean to ramble on.

DigiBee, they are both the same class, so you can take either one or the other. Sorry this answer is so late...you posted your question a month ago.

Hi Lauree! I have elements 6 also and it is really easy to use once you get the hang of it. The absolute best way to learn is to take one of these online classes. They are free and Alisha is a great teacher! Just click the link above to register. The class is tomorrow night so move quick! Also, if you don't have high speed internet or can't do this class, go to the digital scrapbook memores products page and get a beginner CD (any of them) they are 14.95 and well worth it! It is shipped right to your house and has tutorials on the CD that shows you exactly what to do, how to use photoshop, and includes a bunch of stuff to make lots of pages. Good luck! And welcome! You are going to love it here!

Welcome! I agree with Robin. On the main page there is a link at the top that says "tips". That is a really good place to start. There is also a sticky thread in the "digital scrapbooking" forum that is where we share tips and tricks we've learned with each other. That is also a good one to check. Honestly though, dive in and play. It's going to take a little bit to get comfortable but the best way to learn is experiment. Good luck and ASK QUESTIONS!!!

I just purchased Photoshop Elements 6 too. I'm taking the class tonight. Do I need to know much about the program before I take the class? I haven't had time to play with it.
Thanks!

Hello, Thanks so much Alisha for the great tutorial and very informative lesson last night!! I am new to all of this but want to learn this soooo interesting and addictive way to scrapbook, since all of my photos are now on the computer with no where to go!! I got online late after you started and I don't know if you could hear me on the phone but it was great and I am signing up for more so I can try to do a layout, I have a brand new Epson Stlus printer 1400 waiting to be used . Thanks again hope I did this right!
