Hi, Kelly in Germany here. Been on for a week or so, but just getting around to checking all the threads. I'm an art director for the US Army and was introduced to digi scrapbooking by a coworker last year. Took a class from DSM at CHA Winter show 07 and then never touched it. Didn't bother to buy PSE, and couldn't make it work [well] in the software I had on hand. Got a new laptop this summer, PSE installed, and the rest is history. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Seriously new to scrapbooking, so all my layouts are scraplifted from magazines and websites. Hopefully I'll have a few of my own ideas soon!

Hope to go to winter cha 09. Two years in Anaheim without my kids was rough. Too much Disney... I hope the whole family can go one of these years...

Welcome Kelly! I have a question for you. What exactly does an art director do for the army?

Meagan, I have like the most awesome job in the world! We have a pretty diverse program with retail, instructional classes, woodworking, framing, photography, fine arts... I oversee the program, organize contests, craft fairs, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. I do some not so fun stuff too, like reports, inspections, and junk like that to keep the operation safe. It's way fun and I get to really serve families, which is the most rewarding part!

So it's mostly for the families? That sounds fun. I have a good friend from high school that is in the military and just got back from Afghanistan. He and his wife have 3 very active boys. I'm sure they appreciate things like that while he's gone. (That was his second tour.) Probably while he's home, too.:)
