I'm thinking about getting a laminator I'm wondering if anyone here has one that they love. How expensive is it and how expensive are the refill laminating cartridge things too? Thanks!

I'll check on the prices of laminators at Staples today at work. I'm not sure how much they are, but I can find out all the details really easy. I do know that the Copy and Print Center at staples charges .49 cents for each 8.5X11 lamination, so if you don't have a ton of laminating to do, this might end up being the cheaper way to go.
I have to go get ready for work, but I will let you know what I find out when I get home tonight.

I could be wrong... but I think I remember Brooke saying she had one. Brooke... where are you? :)

Here's the info I found out.
12.5" wide: $199.99 (HeatSeal brand)
9.5" wide: $159.99 (HeatSeal brand)
8.5" wide: 99.99 (Staples brand)
We only really had one size of refills in the store (well we had the business card size too, but I didn't price those). The size is about 9X11.5".
3 mil: around $25.00 for a pack of 50
5 mil: around $28.00 for a pack of 25
These prices vary a few dollars between brands.
Hope this info helps out a little. Oh, and I found out the .49 cent laminating is a special that will end in a month I think. Normally it is .99 cents per 8.5X11" page.

I have several xyrons and love them. You can use the machine to laminate, make the item sticky, turn it into a magnet. They come in so many sizes. I find I'm using the 5" one all the time. I sold my 8.5" one (which they don't make anymore). The refills are affordable because they are available at Michael's, Joanns, Hobby Lobby where there are always coupons. It doesn't need electricity to work it either.
Not affiliation. Just a happy customer!

I totally forgot until I was bouncing this idea off of Aaron but his dad works and Office Max so we can totally get the family discount! I'm not going to be laminating a lot so I think this is the way to go!
Thanks for everyones help though, I really appreciate it!

i also have a xyron 900. I don't use it terribly often, but when i do I am happy with the results. i haven't used it enough to have to buy refills.

Brooke does have a laminator. She has been out of town in St. George and I think Bear Lake this week.

Hello! I'm back! :) Like Brittany said, we've been gone for awhile in St. George (got to hang out with Alisha!) and Bear Lake. :) Nice to get away but good to be back home to my own bed.
Jenny, I do have a laminator, but I got it as a Christmas gift and my mom got it at Costco so it came with a ton of laminating sheets and I have no idea what the cost was. So I'm NO help at all! But it looks like you already figured out a solution. :)
