have any of you tried ordering groceries online to then have them delivered to your home? Or what do you guys think of Winder Dairy? It's nearly impossible to go grocery shopping with all 3 kids. We fill up an entire shopping basket leaving no room for groceries. Randy is most likely going back to school this fall so I've been fantasizing over groceries coming to my door. Mainly basics like milk, eggs, cheese but am wondering if it's too expensive & if it's cheaper to just pay a babysitter ($3/hour) while I go. Groceries & gas are getting so expensive so I don't want to be frivolous.

when my kids were young and busy with sports (i had 4) Harmons used to deliver... it was fabulous... sometimes they got the items wrong but mostly it was wonderful... I just did not have time to do it . I am not sure if they still do it or not, but I would guess in todays world there has to be some place that will deliver groceries . Winder Dairy is expensive... but worth it not to have to run to the store all the time... and the product is superior (in my opinion)
good luck

I know I live in Nebraska so you couldn't use the same service but I adore my delivery service. They bring my "essentials" every week and I only run to the grocery store for fresh fruit and veggies. :) We save money doing this since there aren't as many visiual temptations when I order off the order form and don't have to walk down all the aisles! :) It's about the same price as grocery store food but since I don't pick up extras, we actually save and meal planning is simple. :)
Three kids and a grocery store= total stress in my world! :)

yeah! I just found that out! And they let you use their in store ad, too & you can choose to just pick it up if you want! Maybe that could work cuz maybe I can just pull up & they'll bring it to the car. Also, just found out that I can order my diapers & wipes from Costco online! Even the desitin cream! That might be handy. I want to see what shipping is like, though. thanks for the info everybody! xoxo

My parents were using Winder Dairy for awhile. They absolutely loved them, except they are WAY expensive and they had to cancel it. I know Harmons and Albertsons deliver but they have already been mentioned. That is great about Costco!

I LOVE Amazon for books & Christmas, especially toys. So maybe that could work. I wonder if that would be worth it for me... hmmm.... thanks for the suggestions.
That's a bummer your parents had to quit Winder Dairy, Crystal. They were kinda my inspiration for wanting to try it.

I use 800diapers.com for diapers and wipes when on sale. I also use grocerygame.com that tells me exactly what sales are going on in my local grocery stores, what coupons to use & where to find my coupons. It couldn't be easier and save 50% regularly on your groceries. You'll even find tons of stuff free in combination w/ the store running the sale and your coupon. So I say hire the baby sitter, save $ on groceries and get a break girl!

Quinn,
If you do decide to do delivery go with Harmons- I have several family members who work for them-our family loves Harmons. They just have such good quality produce and meat. I really miss shopping there!

Quinn Winder Dairy is really yummy, but expensive. If you are willing to pay the extra for it, then go for it. I looked into it, but it was worth it to haul the kids and buy them popcorn chicken and do it myself. I love to go grocery shopping though. Anyway, good luck with yoru decision. It really may be your sanity saver to get a babysitter for your oldest two and take your baby if you aren't ready to leave her yet. Better yet, swap with a friend.

We've done Winder Farms. I like their products but they are a bit spendy compared to going to the store.
Have you been on their website and priced their products? If you can't get on I'll give you my login and you can check it out. PM me if you are interested.

A lot of our neighbors did Winder Dairy for awhile, but most canceled because of the cost. I think someone should start a drive through at the grocery store where you can just pick up the essentials-milk, diapers, eggs, etc. Swapping kids with a friend is a great idea.

I buy diapers on amazon a lot. If you spend $25.00 then you get free shipping, so I have never done their membership. I thought it would be great to have Albertson's deliver my groceries, but I don't usual shop at Albertson's I think they're a little more pricey than other stores, so I usually haul the 3 kids with me and come home exhausted. My oldest 2 are in school, so during the school year that's not really an issue.
Anyway, good luck! I hate grocery shopping, so I can totally sympathize!

I HATE THE GROCERY STORE (and the gas station for that matter) BUT I find that I'll get a sitter for a bit longer than the hour it takes so I an pack a couple errands in at a time and end with the groceries.
OR I drop one off for a play date or school and just take the other (2's easier than 3!)
I love thegrocerygame and always go with my list and don't just wander. My kids get too bored and I spend too much!

Alisha, are you counting yourself in that 2 or do you have another child I don't know about?:)

We had a drive thru dairy in California. LOVED it!! It was so convenient. I've often thought that we need one of those here.

There is a drive-thru grocery store in north Orem. Can't remember what it is called something like Seasons.

I would love to have a drive thru. The little neighborhood market, named Hamblins, where I grew up in Syracuse had a drive thru, but it's not there anymore.:( I think they would let you get like 10 or 15 items, but it was perfect for when you only needed a few things. My mom used to go there all the time, because with 6 kids, it was a pain to take us all in for a couple things for dinner. I love that there are drive thru pharmacies now, but I wish there was a store like Hamblin's around.

That didn't last! They closed down after like 2 months of being open!

AAAGGHHH! I hate grocery shopping and have said many times I just want a drive-up window for milk and bread. Seriously! I don't like taking my 3 kids so I just wait until my husband is home and go at night. Yuck. :) I love Harmons and will have to check out their delivery. We did Winder Dairy for a bit but like everyone has said, it got a bit too expensive. And we go through milk like crazy. Yummmm, milk......
Let us know what you decide to do, Quinn! :)

I know Albertson's delivers. You can go online and choose what you want and then either pick it up at the store or have it delivered.
