Ok, so I've resisted this darn series and my friends/family have ganged up on me. So I've decided that I could handle it if it was on my iPOD so I could exercise to it.
So do any of you have suggestions for getting it in audiobook format? I about died when I saw it was $45 for the download. Hopefully one of you knows of a less expensive audio option...
THANKS!

haha.
oh wow! $45?? that is not worth it!!
i read them.. some of my friends at school ganged up on me, after i resisted them for a year or so!
what my mom does.. is gets the audiobook from the library, puts it on her ipod.. then when she is done with it, she just deletes it completely! its just like itunes new, "movie rentals," that they came out with! but instead, just get it from your local library!!
:) hope it all works out good! haha!!

I check audio books out from the library all the time. That's how I started with the Twilight series as well. I listened to Twilight and New Moon. Having and iPod makes it so easy to check out the audio book, download it to the iPod and then return the book to the library. You don't have to worry about having it too long. I delete the books after I've listed to them too.

Yep... library. You can go online and get it but sometimes they make you wait if there have been lots of downloads.
I read the first book and I enjoyed it but not enough to keep reading. I am a bit tempted to read the others but prefer to spend my reading time on non fiction.

Ooh, April, I read a good non fiction book for my fiction class (I know that sounds weird). It was In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. It's about a family who is murdered in Kansas, and about the men who committed the crime. Capote wrote it like a fiction novel, and that's why we read it for my fiction class. It was interesting and thought provoking. Thought I would let you know since you asked for good recommendations a few months back.

I read the first two and I think they are very repetitive. The story just drags because she keeps saying the same thing over and over. Don't know if I will read the other two-probably not until I can check them out from the library-don't want to pay for them.

THANK YOU!! :)
I still read all 3 though and am reading the last one, but I'm not killing myself to get it done.

Good to know!! I found a trial download for the first one and then we'll see. Hopefully even if it's not my kind of book, I'll get tighter buns out of it!! HA!

They aren't well written, but it's my understanding that she wrote them for a teenage audience. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Who knows. I don't understand the hoopla, but it hasn't stopped me from reading. :)

My mom said her newer one The Host is written more for adult and you can tell the difference. WHO KNOWS?

I heard that Stephanie Meyer herself admits she's a great storyteller, but not a great writer - so there ya go!

I totally agree. I struggle through all the goo-goo lovey dovey stuff, but the stories are fascinating. Randy found this spoof on the Twilight trailer yesterday & I think it's hilarious & thought you'd all enjoy!

They may not be "well written" so to speak but she has made MILLIONS off of her book, so I say she must have done something right!

I love that part, too! And I love when he can't open the pickle jar & breaks it with the hammer & when they're making the list of things for Bella to tell Edward. Such a crack-up! Okay, gotta get on with real life & get back to my day... kids are starting to notice I'm gone. :)

Kelli, you know I love you!! :ILoveIt:
I knew a fan would get defensive on me. :p Did you catch where I said that I've read and am reading? Hmmmm??? Interesting story that could be written better. That's all I'm saying.
The fact that she's made millions doesn't mean much. Harlequin makes millions too. :D

oh, I'm not defensive.....you should hear the tone of when I think it! ;) It's more of I wish I would have thought of all of this and made all of that money!!!
P.s. Shellie are you going to go see that new movie out that has your boyfriend/LOVER Kevin Costner in it? lol..hehe! And yes, I know you love me, and yes I saw that you said you were still reading it!!
Silly girl!

I saw the movie the day it came out. :D It actually was a good movie, so there. :p
I think that whenever I read a book that has "caught on." Especially Harry Potter. I'd rather be a billionaire.

The last book kind of dragged for me. I thought that a lot could have been taken out. They were fun to read and yes they were written for a younger audience. So I guess all of us old ladies need to remember that.:p:p
Well we are old compared to who it was written for.

Ok so I finished the audio book last night and read book 2 today. I really struggle with the first 3/4 of her books-BORING almost gave up. Are 3 & 4 the same?

OK so take Shellie's oppinion with a grain of salt please! I liked 3 and four better. I thought she was too whiny (my spelling really sucks today!) in 2 but I got through it and enjoyed 3 and 4 much much more!!!
Come Shellie, you have to have something good to say about them! I know you are still reading, but if you don't like them why?!?!

I'm still reading because I like to read, I read a lot, I needed something to read and wanted to see what the hype was about. :D The story is interesting but there are many times when I think something to the effect of, "She has said that 39 times already." ;)
Oh, and I don't like Jacob. He annoys me.

I'm a quarter of the way through 4 (all four in one week is a lot to take in) and I have to agree about the repetition (meant for younger reader I suppose) and I have no idea why there are any feelings for Jacob WHATSOEVER!!!!
Back to reading!

Ok so I finished up last night and have to say I'm surprised that I would like them. I'm secretly (not so secretly now) joining the "I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN" fan club and plan to carry his next love child. LOL
What are your thoughts on The Host? I'm getting mixed reviews...

YAY!! Alisha...Iknew you would enjoy the books!! I'm glad you like Edward! The Host...it's a book to read. It took me about 200 pages to actually get into it, whereas it took my friend the 1st page. So i think it just dependsd!!
