I am wondering if anybody knows about this...when I get my kids taken at a studio like Kiddie Kandids or somewhere, am I allowed to scrap it? I always buy pictures to hang on my wall and pass out to Grandma's, but I don't want to put that ACTUAL picture in my book with a paper and page because of the bulkiness. Am I allowed to scan it, scrap it, and print it at Costco for the book?

You are not! If you buy the basic disk, you are allowed HOME printing options only. If you want to print it commercially, even for your own use, you are supposed to buy the full copyright. At least that was the last I got from them. You may want to check their site and see.

Ok, but as far as you know, at home for my own use would be fine?

Rob Rob. Yes, that is a copyright issue. They offer a cd (copyright release) if you spend $119.95 on prints, then they'll give you the portrait archive cd. And us, (most) digiscrappers don't need that many prints because we're digital~
For that reason, I never go there... you're always frantic when you go there... worrying that your kids won't be happy while you wait your turn, then it's finally your turn and your kids are done staying nice and neat and they are antsy. Good thing I don't have to worry about that anymore~ phew.

Normally the personal archive CD is $80 or if you buy $75 in prints you get it for $15 (funny how that works out) or the full copyright CD is $180.
The have a special right now where the personal one is $15ish without the package (I think)
They now take appointments or walkins which makes a BIG difference!!

I agree with you Jamie. That is one place I choose to boycott because I was there for 2 hours with a new baby and the workers did not care. They chose to sit and chat with one another rather than help the fifteen of us that were sitting there.
I am in Texas and we have "The Picture People". They are great. I discovered them 2 years ago and have not gone anywhere else. I don't have a long wait, and they are great with my kids.

I have heard about them, but they are not here. I wish they were so I could give them a try.
