Hi everyone. My sister-in-law is going to do a baby/bridal shower combined for 2 of my nieces. I need an idea of how to make a cute invitation for the shower. My one niece is not finding out what she is having so that needs to be generic and my nephews fiancee is not sure about her colors yet. They aren't getting married until December, but my sister-in-law wants the shower in October. I am stumped about what to do. I would love any ideas or any samples you have done. Please help me. Well wait until after the Olympics are over, but then I really need your help.

If you have the Family Ties CD you could do one with a vintage feel with flowers and maybe a baby item thrown in there somewhere. That seems like it would fairly generic.

You could do something with black and white and say something about celebrating new beginnings or something like that. I would love to see what you come up with.

what about a fun two sided invite with baby on one side and bridal on the other? You could send them in clear envelopes (I'm a little addicted to those clear envelopes-HA)
"It's a Bride" "It's a Baby" "It's a Braby Shower" OK little cheesey but you get the idea.

I love those ideas. I think I am going to have to play around a bit to figure out what I want. Where do you buy those clear envelopes?

I like the double sided idea and the idea of "new lives" beginning. The wedding kit also has some fun flowers with pearl centers that could go baby or wedding.

I get them at my local scrapbook store or on the internet. If you cant' find them, I can have her order you a batch. They come in 4X6 or 6X6 (extra postage for 6X6)

I don't think anyone ever answered the question about printing double sided invites did they? Come on invite guru Alisha, answer the question.

What size are you going to print them? You might have to find a really high quality card stock, or double sided photo paper and then cut them out. I tried to print double sided on some store bought 4x6 photo paper and the back side was weird and the ink wouldn't set. I ended up printing the back (just some instructions) on regular paper and gluing them together. That was fine for my little b-day invites, but prob not nice enough for what you're doing.

If you look at any place you by photo paper, you can get photo paper that is double sided. It makes it extra nice because they are precut at 4X6. If you check your printer settings, there should be an option to print a 4X6. Then if you are willing you can try printing them at home. It takes a few times to practice to make sure you are putting the paper in correctly, but it is pretty easy. Print, flip and print again!
Good Luck!

On a side note , if you can't find double sided photo paper, try to get the kind that is glossy on one side, and has a matte finish on the other. If that is what you find, you can print photo's on one side, and words on the other.

Sorry Britt!! how many are we talking? I have an amazing place but there is a minimum orderbut usually worth the cost (wedding invites same size 1000 = $350 with them, local place 850 = $750)... or any local graphics place will do it-I only know St George spots for short runs. But I could bring them up to you or you could come visit and pick them up ;)
