Opinions, please

Last night while lying in bed I had what I thought, at the moment, was a fabulous idea. It may not be a fabulous idea so I'd like your true, honest opinions. None of those being forever supportive no matter what opinions. I want to know what you really think about the idea. :D

I'm doing books for my married kids about thier kids. Well, one son and his wife aren't having their first until January so I've been wondering what to do for them. Both of my daughters-in-law blog. I was thinking that I could scrap their blogs. They both post a ton of pics.

Is that stupid since they have a record of their blogs right here on the net?
What I thought would be fun about it is that they would have their own words about the events.

I think that is a great idea!! I'm trying to make a book about my parents trip to Newfoundland using their blog (they blogged along the way). I haven't gotten very far in the process yet, but I think they will love having it in book form.

I know that Quinn made a book from her blog. I saw it at the retreat and thought it was so cool! There's just something different about having it printed in a book. :D

Shellie, I blog a lot and this has me kind of stumped. I'm not sure how I would feel if my mom turned it into a book. I think it would be ok. They've already shared it with you, so it's out there in public cyberspace. So it's not like it's private... and even so you're not sharing, you're just giving it to them. I don't think it's a dumb idea. I've actually scrapped lots of my blogs thoughts. I would suggest two things: get the high res pictures. Don't just save the picture that's on the post. And keep the journalling down to the main points. Definately correct any spelling or punctuation errors. It's not that big of a deal on a blog, but you don't want to print it with errors. I would love to hear about their reactions. :)

I've already asked the girls if they would start saving me discs of their photos. I told them that I wanted to have a "family archive" kind of thing. We'll see if they fall for it. ;)

Good ideas about correcting spelling, etc. Of course, me being a former English teacher I probably would have without even really thinking about it. :p

I think it's great because most Bloggers don't print their blogs. If I were them I might like it just as much if you printed the blog rather than rescrap it.

I think it is a good idea. I want to print my blog, but just have not gotten to that point. I would love for someone to make a book of my blog. So if you feel inspired Shellie, I will let you do that for me.:):rolleyes::p:cheer:

Shellie it is a FABULOUS idea!!! I am going to print my blog out into a book when the year is done! It's a great record!! I would love it, and I thinki they will too!!
