At this weeks expo in SLC we seemed to get a lot of questions about printing, and where to get 12x12 pages printed. Our quick answer is either at Costco, or at home with an Epson R1800 printer. But many people did not have access to a personal printer or to a Costco. So let’s talk about options:

The quick info with Costco is that they offer a 12x18 print for $3. That will give you one 12x12, and you can add on two 6x6 prints for a smaller album with no extra charge. The quality has always been excellent, and they are easy to send photos to for printing, or to bring them on a disk or thumb drive into a store.

Using an Epson R1800 is convenient and provides excellent quality. The cost per page for paper and ink is close to $3. A quick Google search shows that you can buy these printers for less than $500 now.

I have never personally used this service but I understand that http://www.whcc.com has great quality as well, ships fast, and their price list shows that a 12x12 is $3.75. Defiantly worth trying if you are looking for options.

Another mentioned before is www.mpix.com who offers a 12x12 for $6.99. With excellent quality.

I understand that Sams club also offers quality printing, but not sure on their prices or sizes available. I hear rumors about 12x16. Can anyone confirm info on Sams?

I also believe that Wal-Mart offers 12x12 printing, but I am not sure if they all do. Last I knew the one closest to our house did not offer 12x12, but I believe the new store in Sandy does offer it. Can anyone confirm if they can print what their prices are, and what the quality is like?

What else have you used, and liked, or did not like. Post up your experiences with printing so we all can learn :D

I hear that scrapbookpictures.com does nice work also and they've been known to run sales on that size... : )

I have been printing 12x12 pages for the past 2 years at a place called Alphagraphics. They have two locations in Utah County I'm not sure what they have closer to the Salt Lake area. They charge $1.89 per page. They have done excellent work. I just take my files in on a disk and they print them. I have called around to several printing presses but this is the only place I could find that will print a 12x12. They print on a 12x18 sheet but they will cut it for you if you want. They have really good customer service too. I hope this helps some people.

sbtoshare.com has good prices too. I always print 8x8. I like the size better because it sits on my lap and fits in my bookshelf :)

I personally would avoid anywhere that prints with a laser printer though because they can't print a very high resolution and their color gradients are not as gradual as an ink jet or photo printer.

One of the ladies at the Scrap Show told me of a place here in Utah that can do 12x12 for $1.50. But I can't remember where. I'll try to find out.

Thanks for bumping this thread April. I've heard Jenny talk about the great prices at Alphagraphics before and I was always bummed that it was down in Utah county. I just noticed in this thread that Jamie says there is one in Layton. I've probably driven right past it and wasn't paying attention or something. I'm going to have to look into that. (too bad I just renewed my Costco membership because printing pages is really the only reason I have it)
