Ok....I am trying to figure out how to cut a piece of paper in a wave shape or any other shape other than a straight line. Is there some kind of tool that I can use? I can't seem to figure it out. By the way I have Photoshop CS3. Thanks!!

You could use the cookie cutter or you could find a shape and do and do control G

Kim, I have CS3 and I don't think "control g" works the same as in previous versions (It groups instead). If you have a shape you want to use, if you arrange your layers so that the paper you are trying to cut is directly above the shape you want to cut, hold "Alt" and then hover your mouse between the layers (on the layers palate). You will see it change shape (something like a bucket). Left click your mouse. The paper layer will then take the shape of the layer below it. Hope that helps.

In CS3 it's Ctrl+alt+G and it will creating a clipping mask for it.
So Kim, in your tool box look for your shape tool (could be a rectangle, circle, heart, or line) if you choose heart, you get custom shapes in the options bar drop down menu.
Then make your shape (any color is fine).
Move your paper you want cut one layer above the shape layer in your layers palette.
Then hit Ctrl+alt+G (Ctrl+G for your PSE users) and it will make the paper take on the shape of the shape. You can do this with text, shapes or any other items.
Then remember to apply any style (like drop shadows, etc) to the original shape layer not the paper layer.
Holler if you get stuck!
