Forgive me if everyone already knows how to do this, but could someone please tell me how to do this? I've never really learned how on other message boards I'm on.
Thanks in advance!! :)

Just click on the post to thread button and then click on the paperclip and then follow the pop up box. :) enjoy! Can't wait to see your pictures!

Excellent question. I bet most people don't know. There are a bunch of ways to do this here are a couple ways...

#1 This option is only available if you hit "post reply" under the last post or if you start a new thread. You can't do this in the Quick Reply. When you click on this it will give you a pop up window where you can choose to browse to upload a file from your computer. Once you find it you need to click on the upload button. I got confused after this because the pop up screen stays open after it uploads and then I couldn't see the image anywhere else. Turns out when you get back to the place where you are typing your message you need to click on the paperclip again and you will see the file or a list of the files you have just uploaded for you to click on again to insert into your post. In your post you will see {ATTACH} a number then {attach} again. You won't see a picture but it will be there when you submit your reply. This option will display your image as a thumbnail for you to click on to see the larger image. Thumbnails are good because they help the threads load faster. Your file must be under 107K

#2 You have to host your picture on another website. I use Photobucket because it's free. Once you upload your picture there you can either cut and past the [IMG] link below your uploaded photo or you can click on the yellow button (circled in the graphic above). The yellow button above will give you a pop up window that asks for a link starting with http:// Find the link under your uploaded photo (in Photobucket) that starts with http:// and cut and paste that here. The benefit with this is your file size can be bigger and the image displayed in your post will be big (no thumbnail).

This may be a ditsy question--but how do I save the file so that it will be 107k or smaller? Thanks Angie I.

Hi Angie! Most people don't know how to do that so I'm glad you asked. Here is a tutorial on our tips page showing you how to do this:

I know this layout was posted way back in March, but I don't think I was on the forums yet...or I hadn't started posting yet. This layout is so cute and I'm totally going to scraplift it, if that's okay with you.

I'm with you Alyson!!! I love that layout!!! Great job Brooke! I had a question for Alyson or anyone else that would know....Alyson did a LO for DSD that had a pic of the text box and the forums, etc. How do you do that?

Amy, you should have a print screen button somewhere on your keyboard. It probably says "Prt Sc". Push this button when the screen you want copied is on your screen. Now go to Photoshop and open and new document. Press Ctrl + V and it should paste the screen into your new document. It might be kind of small, but you should be able to enlarge it a little bit and crop out the rest of the white space. I hope all of that makes sense.
Oh, and your print screen button might need you to push function + prt sc...that's the way my laptop is.

I have always wondered how to do the "print screen" thing because I have seen it on my keyboard and I have tried to do it on more than one occasion and it had never worked. I will definately try it again when I get PS up and running!

FYI-I have told use the function key and then hold my PrtScn for a minute then it works!

Sorry, I didn't catch this post until now. It's called "grab" on a Mac & you access it through the program "Preview." When in "Preview" you go to "File" > "Grab" and then choose the option that best fits what you want to screen print. There's keyboard shortcuts, too, but I don't remember them because I just don't need screen shots that often.

"print screen" will get everything on your monitor. "alt" + "print screen" will show just the active window and may save you some clean up work

That's good to know Keith. I always just copy my print screen image into photoshop and crop the edges, which isn't to difficult, but this will come in handy!

Brittany what's your blog again? I think everyone that has a blog should post it in their signature.

Macs don't have a "printscreen" button on the keyboard. That really threw me for a loop!
I agree about blog links in signatures. It's only if you feel comfortable, but I really enjoy everyone's blogs.

Oh my gosh, I wondered why this old thread was resurrected!!! HA HA! I couldn't figure out which layout you guys were talking about until I scrolled way back up there. :) Thanks!
Brittany, any luck with your blog? I'm baffled....
Like Quinn I love peeking at people's blogs. :) THAT is something that can be addicting just like digiscrapping.....
