I really want to be there, but my sister is going through the temple that night. A little more important than scraping. I hope to hear about things from the class soon!

Andrea, no microphone needed. You'll just need speakers and your keyboard to ask questions!

Ya'll are so very welcome! Hopefully it made sense! Here is a short version so you can refer to it if you get stuck! Thanks so much to Angie for her help!

Start with a new canvas (I like 12X12 so I know how it will look on my page)
Choose the shape you want to use with the custom shape tool (it's in the same family as the rectangular shape tool just hold the click when you chose rectangular shape)
Now cover your original shape with squares that will eventually be your photo spots. Pay close attention to funny angles and weird spots.
Make sure it's all covered.
Now you will add your photos to the shapes. Chose the shape you want to put a photo in. Open your photo and drag it onto your layout. It should be one layer above the shape you want it to fit with. Choose Layer/Group With Previous or Ctrl+G for PSE or Ctrl+Alt+G for CS and group the photo to the square shape layer. It will take on the shape of that layer. Resize with the Ctrl+T or corner drag until it's the size you want.
DO this for all the square shape layers. If you are trying to check what will show, you can always click on your original shape layer and it will show you a little outline and you can see if the photo is in a good spot. Now you are ready to take the shape on.
Ctrl+Click the layer thumbail of your original shape

Then select the inverse by choosing select/inverse or Ctrl+Shift+I
Now, go to your square shaped layers; right click on them and simplify.
Then hit delete on your keyboard on that same layer.
Do this for all the photo square layers. Simplify and hit delete.
THEN
You can choose all the layers you want to merge or link by clicking on the top one, hold down shift and choose the bottom layer (It will select everything in between) then you can right click on one of the layers you just chose and either Merge Layers OR just choose the link at the bottom of the layers palette and they will all stay together.
