WHO?

Who Can Attend
Anyone can attend. We will have classes for beginner and intermediate/advanced scrapbookers. Each class will focus on how to scrapbook using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements. Beginners will learn the basics of Photoshop as they create beautiful scrapbook pages. Intermediate/Advanced students will learn all sorts of fun tips and tricks to enhance creativity while scrapbooking.

WHAT?

What to expect
This year we are focusing each class on scrapbook layouts. We want you to go home with lots of completed scrapbook pages. Throughout the retreat we will share all sorts of great tips and tricks for scrapbooking, however this year, we will give you more time to actually complete and finish your layouts. Our goal is to enhance your creativity and send you home with a great feeling of accomplishment.

What to bring
Each attendee will need to bring the following:

A computer (obviously laptops are easiest, but some people have brought their PCs)
2) Any version of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements loaded on their computer
3) Digital Pictures loaded on your computer or an external hard drive
4) Photomatix - (Intermediate/Advanced Students only) You can download a free trial anytime before the retreat by clicking here. http://www.hdrsoft.com/index.html Note: If the HDR class doesn’t appeal to you, we’ll have scrapbook projects for you to create during this time.
5) Any Digital Scrapbook Memories CDs you have. Don't worry if you don't have any!
6) Optional: Layout ideas. Titles, journaling and pictures grouped together for individual layouts will help you scrapbook faster at the retreat.
7) Optional: One page journal entry or story that you have no pictures for. This again is optional; you can come up with this idea at the retreat. However, it is recommended you have this journaling written before the retreat so you have time to finish this layout.
8) (new request) Flash Drive if possible. We'll figure something out if you don't have one.

What do I need to do to get a discount on my room?
When you call to make a reservation for the Newpark Resort tell them you want the Digital Scrapbook Memories discount. Our discount prices are $89/night for a Deluxe Room, $119/night for a Luxury Suite, and $175/night for a townhouse that sleeps up to 8. www.newparkresort.com

What you will complete
Layouts, layouts and more layouts! This year’s retreat will focus on completing lots and lots of layouts. Within at least a month of the retreat, we will give you a complete list of pictures and journaling ideas you can prepare before the retreat if you choose.

What meals are included?
There are no meals included. However, this year you can choose a room or townhouse with a full kitchen if you’d like to prepare your own meals. Also, the hotel is part of a large shopping complex with many different restaurants and inexpensive eating areas such as, Café Rio, Loco Lizard, Subway, Quiznos, Coldstone Creamery, Park City Pizza Co., Panda Express, Bajio, and many others.

WHEN?

When are the classes
April 22-24, 2010 - Bonus Classes are held on April 22nd. The actual retreat classes start on April 23rd at 9:30 a.m. and end on April 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Where we are staying

Why you shouldn’t miss the retreat
If you are interested in an extra fun weekend where you can learn how to creatively use Adobe Photoshop, this retreat is for you. Our focus is scrapbooking, but the skills you learn at this retreat will help you take better pictures and create all sorts of fun things such as postcards, invitations, books, posters, etc.

Oh, I so want to come, but little one's due date is only 3 days after the retreat, so it probably is not wise to try and come

I had so much fun last year and it looks even better this year.

Since I am new here, please forgive my ignorance.
I can't seem to find a price for the retreat in April. Also, what are options for transportation from SLC (airport) to the hotel? I see hotel pricing and have looked up air costs but those other issues elude me.

That's where you'll see the prices, etc. As far as transportation, I can't really help you there since I'm not really familiar with all that since I don't live there. I'm sure someone else will pop on here soon and let you know.

Took a drive up to Park City today and decided to "swing by" the Newpark Hotel. WOW!! The atmosphere is awesome. The hotel is located above the shops along the street. The rooms with the hot tubs overlook the street and walkways. Got really excited to hang out with my bestie and hang with all you ladies!!!

P.S. Cafe Rio is right below us!! Don't think it gets better than that.

SeansNonnie There are MANY transportation services in Park City. I know they travel back and forth from the airport. Ask the hotel for a list.

I would LOVE to come, but my brother-in-law is getting married on April 24th in Salt Lake City. This makes 2 years in a row that I will be in SLC during the retreat but have family getting married.

Hopefully no one decides to get married next year during the retreat. I REALLY want to come.
